Woman Gang Raped and Murdered by His Brother & His 4 Friends in Kandhamal  

Phulbani: Kandhamal police arrested a man and his four friends on charges of gang rape of his sister at Chakapad in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

The accused allegedly planned up the gang rape and murder with his friends. The accused wanted to take revenge on his sister as she had threatened to expose his illicit relationship with his sister-in-law.

According to police sources, the accused called up his four friends to a forest near Chakapada on November 3. He got them drunk and motivated them to rape his sister, who was collecting forest produce in the jungle.

When the woman protested, they throttled her and hacked her to death with an axe.

The decomposed body of the woman was recovered from the forest on November 7. The postmortem examination revealed that she was gang raped and then killed. An investigation by the police revealed that the victim’s brother and his four friends were involved in her rape and murder.
