Woman Murdered for Stopping Drunk Man from Entering Temple in Punjab

Chandigarh: A 26-year-old woman from Bihar named Sarita Devi was murdered by a drunk man at a temple in the Kapurthala area of Punjab on Tuesday night. She was the sewadar of a temple in Sidhwan Dona village near Kapurthala.

She reportedly did not allow a drunk man to enter the temple premises. The irked inebriated man attacked her with sharp weapons and an iron rod. Seriously injured Sarita Devi was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. The accused absconded after committing the crime.

The murder suspect has been identified as Harnek Singh, a resident of Sidhwan Dona village. A case has been registered against the suspect. Efforts are on to nab him.
