Youth’s Body Located in Pool of Blood in Balangir Dist

Balangir: The body of a youth was discovered in a pool of blood under mysterious conditions at Jhupudipada under Kantabanji police station limits in Balangir district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Jagannath Gahir from Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district.

According to sources, on Monday, Jagannath had come to visit his relative Satya Narayan Bag at Jhupudipada. After having his dinner, he went to bed. But he was not found in the house on Monday morning.

Later on his blood-soaked body was found on the roadside a few meters away from his relatives’ house.  He seemed to have received a fatal head injury.

He was immediately rushed to the Kantabanji Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared him brought dead. He was suspected to have died of heavy bleeding caused by the head injury.

Meanwhile, Kantabanji police have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem. An investigation is on into the matter. Locals allege that he was killed murdered and his body was thrown by the roadside.
