17-Yr-Old Girl Gang Raped in Moving Car & Thrown Out on Highway in UP’s Jhansi

Lucknow: Three youngsters allegedly gang raped a 17-year-old girl in a moving car in Jhansi city and then threw her out on the highway.

Family members of the victim alleged that the police misbehaved with them and took 12 hours to register their complaint.

The victim had gone out to buy something on Tuesday morning when one Sonu Kumar and two other youths dragged her into a car. The trio allegedly kept driving for about 15 km and gang-raped her in the moving car. Then they threw her out of the the car on the state highway in Shivapuri area and fled.

She was thrown at a place around 17 Km from her home. The girl managed to reach her aunt’s home five hours after the incident.

It is alleged that although the victim was taken to the police station immediately, the police took 12 hours to register an FIR, alleged her aunt before media. The girl’s father alleged that instead of writing the complaint down and immediately catching the criminals, an officer at the police station kept scolding him for not confining my daughter to the house. He said girls shouldn’t be allowed to go out.

Senior police officials have promised to initiate action against the concerned policemen if the allegation is found correct.

According to police sources, one of the accused, who is a neighbour of the victim, has been arrested.  A special police team has been formed to arrest the other two suspects.
