2 Brothers Sentenced to Death For Raping, Torching Minor Girl In Rajasthan

Jaipur: Two brothers were convicted and sentenced to death by a POCSO court in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara of raping and a 14-year-old girl and burning her alive in August 2023.

The judge classified the case as the “rarest of the rare” as he delivered the death sentence.

The convicted brothers were identified as Kalu and Kanha, from the Kaleblia tribe. In the same case, the court acquitted seven others, including three women, who were accused of destroying evidence.

Two of the three women are reportedly wives of Kalu and Kanha.

This gruesome rape and murder was committed on August 3, 2023. The young girl grazing her family’s cattle herd was sexually assaulted in the Shahpura area of Kotri tehsil in Bhilwara district.

Later her half burnt body parts were located in a furnace. Forensic report confirmed that the body parts were of the the young girl who was burnt alive.

The investigation also revealed that the girl hit on the head by a lathi after her rape to make her unconscious. Then she was burnt down in the furnace.
