2 Youths Arrested in Pune for Hiding Friend’s Death, Burying Him Secretly

Pune: Two men were arrested in the Pune district of Maharashtra for allegedly burying their friend, who died last month after falling from a 100-foot electricity tower, without informing the death to his family or police.

The deceased, Basavraj Mangrule (22) was among the trio that tried to steal a metal cable from a defunct high-tension electricity tower near Ranjane village in Velhe tehsil on July 13. The accused were identified as Saurabh Renuse and Rupesh Yenpure.

As per the police, Mangrule died during the theft attempt after falling off the tower. Instead of taking him to hospital or informing police, his family members, the accused allegedly buried him in the Pabe forest.

The incident came to light when Mangrule’s family filed a complaint that he was missing since July 11.

During interrogation, the duo showed police the spot where they had buried their compatriot. Further investigation is underway.
