52-Yr-Old Man Arrested for Kidnapping, Raping, Killing 9-Yr-Old Girl in Delhi

New Delhi: A nine-year-old girl who had been missing since December 12 from Swaroop Nagar in Delhi was found to be kidnapped, raped and murdered by a 52-year-old landlord.

Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal has taken suo moto cognisance in the case and has demanded a copy of the FIR registered in the matter and a detailed Action Taken Report in the matter.

According to investigating police officials, the accused identified as Sanjeev Rana (52) has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping, raping and killing the minor. He dumped the body of the victim in the Munak canal.

Delhi police received information about the kidnapping of the girl on December 12. While police were searching for the missing girl, the accused was admitted to a hospital in the Rohini area on December 15 following an accident.

On December 17, the hospitalized accused confessed to kidnapping the girl and killing her. The accused has been arrested for the abduction, rape, and murder of the minor girl, he added.
