Liquor Smugglers Kill Police SI in Dry Bihar

Patna: Liquor smugglers attacked a police team killing a police official and injuring another severely in Bihar’s Begusarai on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

A five-member police team faced this lethal attack while trying to intercept a car smuggling liquor in the Nawkothi police station area.

At around 12.30 am, an Alto car approached the police team. Police sub-inspector (SI) Khamas Chaudhary and his team members tried to stop it. The car hit the police team and escaped from the spot. Chaudhary received head injuries and died on the spot. Another constable was seriously injured.

A special police team has been formed to identify the liquor smugglers and arrest them.

Bihar is complete dry state, where sell and consumption of liquor is completely banned.
