Case Against Man for Beating Stray Dog to Death in Maharashtra’s Thane

Mumbai: Police have lodged a case against a man for allegedly killing a stray dog with a bat in Thane city of Maharashtra.

The accused identified as Gokul Thore thrashed the dog mercilessly on Thursday at Mogarpada in Ghodbunder locality of Thane city.

According to the social activist, who lodged a complaint against the accused, the severely injured dog was taken to different veterinary hospitals, but died during treatment on Friday afternoon.

The police have registered an FIR under provisions of section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against the accused.
