Mumbai: A 38-year-old man from Virar in Maharashtra’s Palghar district was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death following an argument with her.
The accused, Gopal Rathod was a drunkard who was causing trouble for his family, said police officials. At around 4.30 am on Friday, he had a quarrel with his 32-year-old wife Bharati over some petty matter. In a fit of rage, he stabbed her to death with a knife.
Their neighbours called up the police. The victim’s body was sent for a post-mortem and the accused was arrested and booked under sections 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
