Legal Assistant Dismissed by Rourkela Development Authority After His Conviction in Corruption Case

Rourkela: Manoj Kumar Dash, the legal assistant of Rourkela Development Authority (RDA) was dismissed from services as he was convicted by a special vigilance court in Sundergarh in a corruption case.

Odisha Vigilance had recommended appropriate action against Manoj Kumar Dash and he was dismissed as per the provision of OCS (CCA) Rules, 1962.

A vigilance court convicted Dash in a bribery case and he was sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 5000 was also imposed on him by the court. In default of payment of the fine, he would undergo further three months of rigorous imprisonment. He was convicted for offence U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) of PC Act, 1988/109 IPC.
