Poacher Nabbed in Similipal; Leopard Skull, Illegal Arms Seized

Mayurbhanj: A poacher named Lankan Badra (62) was arrested by the personnel of the Similipal Tiger Protection Force on Sunday.

During the raid on his house at Makabadi village by the forest officials, a leopard skull with part of a vertebral column, three snares and nine arrows were seized from the accused person’s  possession.

During interrogation by the investigating Officer, Badra revealed the detailed process of poaching wild animals and recreated the crime scene inside compartment No P17 under Nawana South WL Range. The investigating officer seized some bones from the crime scene. Further, the accused led to the discovery of the weapons used in the crime from his house at Makabadi. The team seized dry meat, three snares, one skull of barking deer with antler, one axe, one bill hook, poison, and gunny bags from his house during the second search.
