Retired CRPF Jawan Fires At Son For Beating Grandson, Arrested in Maharashtra

Nagpur: A 68-year-old retired CRPF jawan was arrested by police for allegedly opening fire at his son for beating up his grandson in Nagpur city of Maharashtra on Monday night.

The former CRPF personnel served as a security guard for bank cash vans. He scolded his 40-year-old son and daughter-in-law for beating up their son aged 4.

The matter aggravated and the elderly man in anger allegedly fired at his son with his licensed rifle. Getting information from the neighbours, police rushed to the spot.

A bullet hit the leg of the accused’s son. He was rushed to a hospital. He is reported to be out of danger.

The retired CRPf personnel was arrested on charges of attempt to murder and violation of the Arms Act.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that he was angry over the abuse of his grandson at the hands of his son.
