Student Stabs Security Guard to Death At College in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 22-year-old third-year BA student stabbed the security guard of his college to death in Bengaluru for not allowing him inside the campus.

The CCTV footage of the incident that happened on Tuesday went viral on social media. In the video clip, the student was seen stabbing the security guard.

According to reports, the accused Bhargav Jyoti Bhumran, a third-year BA student from Sindhi College in Kempapura participated in the college fest and wanted to go out of college campus at noon.

Although he was warned that he would not be allowed to come back to the campus for the day if he went out, Bhumran left the college. When he tried to reenter the college campus at 12.30 pm, the security guard did not allow him to enter the college.

The accused left the spot and returned at 2.30 pm and started arguing with the security guard. All of sudden he took out a knife and stabbed the security guard multiple times before fleeing from the spot.

The injured security guard was rushed to a hospital immediately, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Quoting a senior police official, Deccan Herald has reported that it is suspected that the accused was intoxicated when he committed the crime. The accused has been arrested.

Bhumran hails from Assam and he came to Bengaluru to study.
