Undertrial Prisoner Throws Slipper at Magistrate in Rajasthan Court

Bhilwara: An undertrial prisoner created a scene in a Bhilwara courtroom on Monday by hurling his slipper at the presiding magistrate. The accused, identified as Ismail, was in judicial custody for a theft case.

According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Rasik Mohammad of City Kotwali police station, Ismail was brought to the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate from jail for a hearing. “He abruptly took off his slipper and threw it at the magistrate,” Mohammad said.

Ismail was sent back into judicial custody, but the incident did not end there. The magistrate is filing a case against him, and he will likely face arrest on a production warrant.

This act of disrespect towards the court will likely result in additional charges for Ismail.
