Woman Killed Over Extra-Marital Affair in Deogarh Dist, Four Including Lover Arrested

Deogarh: Investigating police officials cracked the mystery behind the discovery of a half-buried body of a woman near a playground in the Reamal area of Odisha’s Deogarh district. Four persons were arrested in connection to the murder.

The arrested persons were identified as the woman’s lover Pramod Pradhan (24) and Keshav Pradhan (50) of Balasingha village in Sambalpur district, Keshav’s relative Gurucharan Pradhan (55) and son Pradip Pradhan (30) of Madhyapur village under the within Reamal police station limits.

The deceased was identified as Mina of Garakhol village under the Kisinda police station limits of Sambalpur district. It is alleged that she and Pramod were having an extra-marital affair. Investigation revealed that Pramod killed her because of the suspicion of infidelity.

Mina had married one Dasarathi Kisan of Balam village two years back and also had a child. But Mina left behind her husband and child to stay with Pramod. But Pramod started to suspect that Mina was having a relationship with someone else. Pramod and Mina quarrelled regularly over the suspicion. On February 23, the couple had a heated altercation over the issue. When Mina went to sleep, Pramod throttled her to death with a shawl. With the help of Gurucharan and Pradip, he disposed of the body near the playground at Reamal.

On March 1, the decomposed body was spotted by a shepherd.
