Bollywood Celebrities Remember Dev Anand on His 100th Birth Anniversary

Bollywood celebrities remembered Dev Anand on his 100th birth anniversary, sharing their favourite films of the legendary actor and their personal memories of him. Known for his timeless charm and incredible talent, Dev Anand continues to be remembered and cherished by fans and fellow actors alike.

Zeenat Aman, who shared the screen with Dev Anand in several films, said that she is glad that he is still remembered and loved by everyone. She shared movie stills from two of her favourite films with Dev Anand, Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971) and Heera Panna (1973).

Zeenat also recalled her first meeting with Dev Anand, calling him a ‘star maker’. She said that she landed a role in Hare Rama Hare Krishna because of him.

Zeenat also briefly addressed Dev Anand’s confession of love to her through his autobiography “Romancing with Life.” She mentioned how she felt humiliated by this revelation and how the incident caused a stir among friends and acquaintances.

Raveena Tandon said that Dev Anand is an icon in Indian cinema and that the music of his films is still so fresh. Her favourite Dev Anand song is “Abhi Na Jaao Chhodkar” from the film Hum Dono. She said that this film handled romance so delicately.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra said that her favourite Dev Anand film is Guide. She said that it was way ahead of its times.

Aahana Kumra said that her favourite Dev Anand film is also Guide, but she also likes CID and Baazi. She said that she met Dev Anand while she was in film school and that Naseeruddin Shah told her so many fantastic stories about him.

Nimrat Kaur said that the most impactful film she has ever watched is Guide. She said that it affected her so deeply and that she knows all the songs by heart.

Gulshan Devaiah said that his favourite Dev Anand film is Jewel Thief. He said that he remembers watching it on DD Sunday night movies in the late 80’s and that he was mesmerized by it.

Shabana Azmi said that Dev Anand was a dashing and charming man with a style all his own. Her favourite Dev Anand film is Kala Bazar. She said that she recently noticed the maturity with which a woman’s right to choose was handled in this film.

Ronit Roy said that his favourite Dev Anand film is Guide. He said that Dev Anand’s performance in this film is close to impossible to even match today.

Sharib Hashmi said that he loves so many of Dev Anand’s films, especially from the black and white era like Kaala Paani, Hum Dono, and Paying Guest. He said that it was a sheer delight to watch Dev Anand on the screen and that his inimitable style was such a treat to the eyes. His favourite Dev Anand film is Tere Ghar Ke Saamne.

Tamannaah Bhatia said that her favourite Dev Anand film is Guide. She said that she watched it with absolute attention and that it was an amazing film.
