Disney’s Moana 2 to Hit Theatres on November 27, Watch Teaser

Disney’s Moana 2 will be released in theatres worldwide on November 27. It is a sequel to Disney’s Oscar-nominated film Moana.

“#Moana2, only in theaters Nov. 27, 2024,” Disney Animation wrote on X, sharing the teaser which hints at Moana exploring new seas and sailing to unknown shores.

Directed by Dave Derrick Jr, Moana 2 will take fans on a new adventure with Moana, Maui and a group of unusual sailors. It will be an adventure “unlike anything she’s ever faced”.

The soundtrack for the upcoming film is composed by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

Moana was released in 2016 and it was a worldwide hit making box office collection of over USD 680 million. It is still popular as it recently crossed 1 billion hours streaming on Disney Plus and it was the most streamed movie of 2023 on any platform in the US.

Moana tells the story of the journey of a spirited Polynesian teenager Moana, who sets sail across the ocean to save her island from a curse.
