Kerala Launches CSpace, Country’s 1st Govt Backed OTT Platform

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government is entering the digital entertainment arena with the launch of CSpace, India’s first government-backed OTT platform. CSpace is scheduled for March 7 inauguration by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the at Kairali Theatre at 9:30 am.

CSpace aims to strike a balance between informative and entertaining content. Managed by Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), CSpace operates under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala.

A panel of 60 cultural experts, including Benyamin and Santhosh Sivan, will approve the content to be showcased on this OTT platform.

CSpace offers a diverse range of content, including 42 films in its initial lineup, comprising feature films, documentaries, and short films. Films with national or state awards or those featured in major festivals will be included.

It will operate on a pay-per-view basis. Half of the revenue generated will be provided to content providers.

From March 7, viewers can download the CSpace app from the PlayStore and App Store.
