Adults raking Covaccine and Covishield can take Corbevax as a precautionary dose

New Delhi: The government has approved that anyone above the age of 18 years who has previously taken the Covaccine or Covishield vaccine can take Biological E’s Corbevax as a booster dose. For the first time, the government has been permitted to take a booster dose of a vaccine different from the primary vaccination for the prevention of Covid-19.

The permission was given by the Union Health Ministry on the recommendation of the Covid-19 Working Group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI). According to the official announcement, anyone over the age of 18 can take Corbevax as a booster dose 6 months or 26 weeks after taking the second dose of Covaccine or Covishield. It is said that those who want can take the same vaccine, that is, those who have taken covaccine can take covaccine and those who have taken Covishield can take Covishield as the third dose.
