Be Careful! Consuming This Fruit May Lead To Lose Your Kidney

Elevated levels of uric acid in the blood can lead to serious health conditions such as bone and joint damage, kidney disease, and heart disease. Uric acid is a component of purines, a naturally occurring substance in the body that normally leaves the body through urine. The problem starts when our kidneys can’t help excreting uric acid or our body makes too much of it.

This excess uric acid forms crystals and accumulates around the joints, causing pain, and stiffness. It can eventually affect the heart, kidneys, and other vital organs as well. One way to correct high uric acid levels in the body is to pay attention to what you eat. Some foods are high in purine and should be avoided. A person suffering from this condition should also be careful while eating fruits and vegetables because the fructose in them can increase the production of uric acid in the blood.

Purines, a chemical found in the body, can also be found in certain foods. Therefore, low consumption of purines helps maintain proper levels of uric acid in the blood. Fructose is a natural sugar found in many fruits and vegetables. The presence of fructose gives some foods a natural sweet taste to them. However, fructose is one of the ingredients that increase the production of uric acid in the blood, says Nidhi S., founder of Nutrition and Half-Life.

Nidhi suggests foods for maintaining proper blood uric acid levels:

Raisins: Fructose per 100 grams: 26.54 grams. Raisins are made from grapes that contain purines. Eating purine-rich foods can exacerbate gout problems and also increase blood uric acid levels. These dry fruits should be completely avoided by people suffering from gout conditions.

Tamarind: Contains 12.31 grams of fructose per 100 grams. Although tamarind has other health benefits, it is not recommended for people suffering from gout problems. The amount of fructose increases the production of uric acid which is useful for our body.

Apple: Fructose: 8.52 grams per 100 grams. Apples are also a storehouse of natural fructose. Its excessive consumption can worsen the condition of the gut.

Dates: Fructose: 15.04 grams per 100 grams. Dates are a low-purine fruit but contain high amounts of fructose. Eating dates can be dangerous because they can alter the amount of uric acid in your blood.

Litchi: Contains 8.6 grams of fructose per 100 grams. It is considered high-fructose food. So, it is better to avoid litchi to keep your uric acid level under control. If you want your health to be good then control the consumption of these fruits.
