Doctor Dismissed For Pre-Wedding Shoot Inside Operation Theatre in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka government dismissed a doctor from his job when he was found to have shot a pre-wedding video with his fiancee inside an operation theatre at a hospital in Chitradurga district on Wednesday.

The doctor was appointed a month back on on contractual basis in the said hospital through the National Health Mission (NHM). The operation theatre, where the video clip was made is currently not in use as it is under repairs.

In the clip of the pre-marriage video shoot, he and her fiancee were seen performing a fake surgery. The couple was shot along with medical equipment and a full-fledged lighting setup in the background.

Camerapersons and other technicians could be heard making comments as they recorded the act.

Towards the end, a man who acted as a patient is seen sitting up, bursting into laughter.

The Chitradurga district administration terminated the doctor from the service after the video went viral on social media.

Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao in a post on X, “A doctor who conducted a pre-wedding shoot in the operation theater of Bharamasagar Government Hospital in Chitradurga has been dismissed from service. “Government hospitals exist for the health care of people and not for personal work. I cannot tolerate such indiscipline from doctors”.
