Bangladesh Courts Acquit Ex-PM Khaleda Zia in 5 Cases

Bangladesh’s former prime minister Khaleda Zia was acquitted in five separate cases on Tuesday. These cases included one filed over allegations of celebrating a “fake birthday” and another for supporting war criminals.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan court issued acquittal orders in four cases against the former PM whereas Additional Chief Metropolitan court acquitted her in one case on Tuesday. She was acquitted of all charges against her following the fall of the government led by her arch-rival Sheikh Hasina.
