Cambodia Casino Fire: 10 Killed, Several Injured; People Jump Off Windows To Save Life | WATCH

Krong Poi Pet (Cambodia): At least 10 people have died as a result of a fire in a hotel casino in Cambodia near the Thai border.

Around 11:30 PM local time on Wednesday, a fire broke out at the Grand Diamond City hotel-casino in Poipet. According to the police, as many as 30 people were injured in the incident.

Some of the clips on social media appeared to show people jumping from the burning structure.

As per reports, the injured were being transported to hospitals in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province while working closely with local authorities.

“The authorities have been making an effort to contain the fire, including by bringing in firetrucks from the Thai side,” said an official.

According to a volunteer with the Thai rescue group Ruamkatanyu Foundation, the fire began on the ground floor but swiftly jumped up through the multi-story building and spread over the carpets.
