Madarasa teacher arrested for rapping 10 minor boys in Pakistan

Peshawar: A madarasa teacher was arrested on Wednesday in charges of raping at least 10 minor students in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Police officer Akhtar Farooq said on Wednesday that accussed Qari Bashir has admitted to molesting the boys in the past two months in the ‘Bhutta Vahan’ area of Sadiqabad Rahim Yar Khan, about 500 km from Lahore.

The police arrested the teacher after the parents of the madarasa students lodge an FIR. The FIR alleges that Bashir forcibly took their children to his room in the madarasa and molested them. The police have sent the four victims to a hospital for medical examination. “We have requested other students to inform the police if they have also been sexually abused,” Farooq said.

According to a police official, the victims said in their statement that the accused, after committing the misdeed, said that if they told anything about it to anyone, he would kill them. The officer said that the interrogation of the accused is on and the number of victims could be more than 10. Bashir has been sent to four day police custody for further investigation.
