Video of Girls Drinking Beer At Chhattisgarh School Surfaces; Probe Ordered

Raipur: A video of a group of girl students drinking beer inside a classroom of a government school in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district has surfaced on social media. Following it, the authorities of the education department have ordered a probe.

The purported video said to be shot on July 29 is from the Government Higher Secondary School in Bhatchaura village in the Masturi area of Bilaspur district.

In the viral video, some girls are seen drinking beer and soft drinks. The District Education Officer (DEO) of Bilaspur has formed a three-member committee to probe the alleged incident.

This committee recorded the statements of concerned students and teachers on Monday.

According to the DEO, the students informed the probe team that they had waved beer bottles for fun while making videos but did not consume the drink.

The education department authorities have decided to take action against the principal and the head of the institution to ensure that similar incidents don’t recur in schools. Notices will be sent to the parents of the girls involved.

According to sources, dome girls celebrated their classmate’s birthday inside a classroom on July 29. One of the students later shared the videos and photographs on social media.
