2 Tiger Cubs Killed by Leopards in Uttarakhand Tiger Reserve

Dehradun: Two tiger cubs of a tigress translocated from Corbett Tiger Reserve along with their mother tigress, were killed by leopards in the Rajaji Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand.

The translocated tigress had four cubs. Two of its cubs were killed by leopards in the Beriwada range of Rajaji Tiger Reserve, said officials. One of the cubs was male and the other female.

The dead cubs were estimated to be about one and a half months old. One cub had a broken neck, and the other’s head was crushed.

The translocated tigress had given birth to four cubs in the Chillawali range of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve on May 24.

Now, only two cubs of this tigress survive.
