ABVP Counters SFI; Plans To Screen The Kashmir Files At Hyderabad University Campus

Hyderabad: After the left-affiliated Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has organised a screening of a BBC documentary on PM Modi on JNU premises, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has arranged for the Kashmir Files to be screened simultaneously at the university campus.

Following the organization of a screening of the BBC series on Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the plans to have simultaneous screening of The Kashmir Files, police personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incidents.

Earlier this week, violence broke out on the JNU campus in Delhi after the JNU students’ union had organised a screening of the BBC documentary. The plan to screen the series at Jamia Millia Islamia had to be cancelled after a ruckus was created following the announcement.

A couple of days back, a students group at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) had organised screening of the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on its campus without a prior notice or permission, prompting the University authorities to seek a report on the event for taking necessary action.
