Adani Group Raises ₹11,330 Crore through Stake Sales, Attracts Global Investors

New Delhi: Adani Group, a leading conglomerate in India, has successfully raised ₹11,330 crore ($1.38 billion) through stake sales in three of its key companies: Adani Enterprises Ltd, Adani Green Energy Ltd, and Adani Transmission Ltd. This capital infusion is part of the group’s ongoing transformative capital management program, aimed at fulfilling its 10-year roadmap formulated in 2016. The funds raised will not only support the growth of the group but also meet near-term debt and equity commitments of the portfolio companies over the next 12-18 months.

To further bolster their financial position, Adani Enterprises Ltd plans to raise ₹12,500 crore through a share sale to investors, while Adani Transmission aims to raise ₹8,500 crore, and Adani Green Energy plans to raise ₹12,300 crore. These primary issuances have received board approval and will provide additional capital availability for the group’s growth plans.

The Adani Group has been successful in attracting investments from a diverse range of investors across its various listed entities. This includes leading global names such as Qatar Investment Authority, TotalEnergies, International Holding Company, and GQG Partners, along with co-investors like Australia Super, Goldman Sachs, and others. These investments showcase the confidence and faith placed in the Adani Group’s businesses and its commitment to robust governance practices.

Adani Enterprises Ltd, the flagship firm of the group, focuses on building infrastructure businesses and is one of the world’s largest business incubators. It prioritizes the airport and green hydrogen sectors, aiming to support India’s drive towards self-sufficiency in primary energy and the decarbonization of industrial and mobility sectors.

Adani Green Energy Ltd is the largest and fastest-growing renewable power company in India, with an operational portfolio of 8.1 GW. With a vision to commission 45 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, it aims to become the lowest-cost generator of renewable power in the country.

Adani Transmission Ltd is the largest private energy solutions player in India, specializing in power transmission and distribution. It is increasingly focusing on smart metering, which plays a crucial role in integrating renewable energy into power grids and facilitating the decarbonization of the energy sector.

The Adani Group’s ability to raise significant funds across its portfolio companies reflects its commitment to achieving its stated goals and highlights the underlying strength of its businesses. The group’s capital transformation journey, initiated in 2019, has resulted in raising over $9 billion within a span of four years.
