Captain Amarinder Singh To Join BJP

New Delhi: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, who founded Punjab Lok Congres during the recently concluded state election, is set to join BJP.

The decision will be taken after a party meeting on Monday. He will join the BJP in the presence of party president JP Nadda and other senior leaders in Delhi.

Amarinder Singh had formed the party after he was forced by Congress to resign from the chief minister’s post in September 2021. He was replaced by Charanjit Singh Channi. Later, he announced an alliance with the BJP ahead of the 2022 Punjab Assembly election.

Captain Amarinder Singh, who also contested the election from the Patiala assembly seat, was defeated by the AAP candidate by a margin of 19,873 votes.
