Bengaluru: Actor Prakash Raj has been booked by the police in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district over a social media post that allegedly mocked India’s Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission. A complaint was filed by Hindu organization leaders at the Banahatti police station, demanding action against the actor.
In a recent post on the microblogging site X, Prakash Raj shared a caricature joking about the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The post featured a man in a shirt and lungi pouring tea with the caption, “First view just arrived from Chandrayaan… #VikramLander #justasking.”
The actor faced significant backlash from people who considered the Chandrayaan-3 mission a matter of national pride. Responding to the social media outrage, Prakash Raj clarified that his comments were intended as a joke, referencing historical events.
