Dense Fog, Cold Waves Take Over North India, IMD Issues Warnings

New Delhi: Severe cold wave conditions continue to sweep Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other areas in North India. The IMD warned of severe cold conditions in parts of North India, including Delhi.

Most parts were covered in a thick blanket of fog this morning, with people in the national capital shivering at 1.9 degrees Celsius.

The IMD issued a red alert on the severe cold wave in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. An orange alert has been issued for Rajasthan and Bihar.

The Met office however said, there will be abatement in the cold wave conditions in the plains of Northwest India and adjoining Central India from Tuesday onwards.
