Female Maoist Slain in Chhattisgarh, Carried Rs 8 lakh Reward

Raipur: A female Maoist, who had a reward of Rs 8 lakh on her head, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district.

She was slain during an encounter on Wednesday on a forested hill between Gondpalli, Parlagatta and Badepalli villages on the Dantewada-Sukma district border.

The body of the slain Maoist was recovered from the spot of exchange of fire. She was identified as Chandranna alias Satyam. The around 50-year-old Naxalite was an active member of the outlawed outfit for nearly three decades. A country-made pistol, four live bullets and other Maoist-related materials were recovered from the spot.

Chandranna hailed from the Golapalli area in the Sukma district. She was involved in several incidents of Maoist violence including murders in the past.
