Mumbai YouTuber’s Private Video Goes Viral; FIR Registered

Mumbai: Mumbai police have initiated an investigation into a case reported by a 21-year-old YouTuber residing in Bandra. The individual alleged that unauthorized access was gained to the footage from a CCTV camera installed in his home, with the content subsequently shared on various social media platforms.

The YouTuber became aware of the situation on December 9 when friends alerted him to a video circulating on YouTube, Instagram, and Telegram, depicting him without clothes. The video, dated November 17, reportedly shows the YouTuber exiting his bathroom in a state of undress.

The complaint, filed with the Bandra police last week, asserts that the CCTV footage was accessed illicitly, leading to its dissemination on the internet. The case has been registered against unidentified individuals under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 500 (defamation), and the Information Technology Act. The authorities are actively conducting investigations into the matter.
