Girl Who Attempted Suicide Ties Rakhi to Her Brother Before Her Last Breath in Telangana

Hyderabad: It was a heart-rendering incident coinciding Rakshya Bandhan this year, when a girl tied a rakhi on the wrist of her brother few minutes before her last breath at a hospital.

This girl from Telangana’s Mahabubabad had consumed poison on August 15 to end her life. She was a student of a diploma technical course. A man pressed her to marry him and when she refused, she had to face severe harassment at the hands of the man and his associates.

Unable to bear the harrasments by these men, she attempted suicide on August 15 by drinking poison.

She was admitted to a hospital, where she died on August 17.

According to a report in India Today, before taking her last breath, she called up her brother and tied a rakhi to his wrist. After post-mortem, her funeral was held on Sunday.

According to the Narsimhulpet police, a case has been filed and the men accused of harassing her have been arrested.
