Hindu Personal Law Board Moves SC Seeking Construction of Protective Wall at Ram Setu

New Delhi: The Hindu Personal Law Board (HPLB) has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court seeking the construction of a protective wall at the Ram Setu site. The PIL argues that a protective wall is necessary to ensure the proper management of Ram Setu darshan, which is believed to lead to salvation.

The PIL also states that the Indian government’s goal of establishing “Ram Rajya” cannot be achieved without a protective wall at the Ram Setu site.

The HPLB has raised concerns about the government’s insufficient efforts in managing Sri Ram Setu. The PIL points out that the water depth at the Ram Setu site ranges from 4 to 40 feet, making it difficult to manage darshan safely.

The PIL envisions that opening Ram Setu for darshan would enable people from around the world to visit Dhanushkodi and witness the bridge constructed on Lord Ram’s orders.

In addition to advocating for the construction of a protective wall, the PIL also calls for the declaration of Ram Setu as a national monument.
