“Tight Slap to Opposition”: PM Modi Hails Supreme Court’s VVPAT Verdict

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Supreme Court’s dismissal of pleas seeking cross-verification of EVM votes with VVPAT, labelling it a decisive blow to the Opposition during his election rally in Araria, Bihar.

PM Modi urged the Opposition to issue a national apology, emphasizing the significance of the Court’s ruling for democracy.

Addressing the rally, PM Modi commended the Court’s decision, highlighting it as a momentous occasion for democracy. He criticized the Opposition for their persistent skepticism towards EVMs and their attempt to tarnish India’s electoral process for personal gains.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court rejected the pleas, stressing the importance of trust in the electoral system and dismissing any unwarranted skepticism. Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta highlighted the need for harmony and trust among institutions.

PM Modi also accused the Congress of conspiring against the rights of SCs, STs, and OBCs, alleging their efforts to implement religion-based reservations. He criticized the RJD-Congress alliance for disregarding the Constitution and obstructing voters’ rights in the past.
