IndiGo Sets Aviation History with Record-Breaking 500-Aircraft Deal with Airbus

New Delhi: IndiGo, a prominent airline, has made an extraordinary announcement of securing a record-breaking deal with Airbus. The deal involves the procurement of a staggering 500 aircraft, which marks a significant milestone in the history of aviation. This impressive purchase surpasses the recent agreement signed by Air India for 470 aircraft, solidifying IndiGo’s position as a frontrunner in the industry.

According to Airbus, this order for 500 A320 Family aircraft is a record-breaking achievement, representing the largest single purchase agreement ever witnessed in the commercial aviation sector.

With this deal, IndiGo’s total number of Airbus aircraft on order reaches an astounding 1,330, firmly establishing the airline as the leading customer for A320 Family aircraft globally. Airbus further highlighted the immense impact of this agreement, emphasizing IndiGo’s ability to support economic growth, social cohesion, and enhanced mobility within India.

Pieter Elbers, the Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo, expressed his enthusiasm about this historic order for 500 Airbus A320 Family aircraft.
