One JeM Terrorist Shot Dead In Gun Fight With Security Forces

An early-morning Friday confrontation between security forces and terrorists in the Kapren region of Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the encounter of a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist. This joint encounter was done by the Indian army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The militant who was gunned down has been identified as Kamran Bhai alias Hanees.

Kashmir ADGP, Vijay Kumar informed, “One member of the JeM terror outfit killed, identified as Kamran Bhai alias Hanees who was active in the Kulgam-Shopian area. Search is still going on.”

“Encounter has started at Kapren area of Shopian. Police and Army are on the job. Further details shall follow,” according to Kashmir Zone Police.

The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway to eliminate further threats.
