Rhino Poacher Shot Dead in Kaziranga National Park

Guwahati: An alleged rhino poacher was shot dead by forest guards in the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

As per reports in the media, the forest officials set up an ambush in the Eralihool area of the national park on Friday night after receiving intelligence inputs about the movement of some poachers.

The suspected poacher was killed at around 3 am in the wee hours of Saturday. The rest of the suspected poachers were successful in escaping. The identity of the suspected poacher has not been ascertained.

According to the director of the national park, a drone party is sent to the spot to unearth shreds of evidence.
