Infant Dies of Swine Flu in Assam, 2nd H1N1 Death in the State

Guwahati: A 4-month-old child infected with the H1N1 virus, died in Assam’s Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) on Tuesday. It was the second swine flu death reported from Assam in the last four days.

According to official sources, one more swine flu patient is undergoing treatment at SMCH, officials said.

The infant who died of swine flu recently hailed from Cachar district’s Uttar Krishnapur area. The infected baby was admitted to the hospital on April 12 in critical condition.

According to the doctors who treated the child, he was suffering from other issues and the H1N1 virus made it worse.

On May 4, a 13-month-old child from Assam’s Hailakandi district died of the H1N1 virus infection.
