Several Pro-Khalistani Twitter Accounts Blocked By India

New Delhi: Following protests over police action against Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, several pro-Khalistan Twitter accounts have been withheld in India.

This comes at a time when Khalistani elements are attacking and vandalizing Indian consulates and high commissions in foreign nations.

According to reports, Twitter accounts of Canada’s New Democratic Party leader Jagmeet Singh, Canadian poet Rupi Kaur, the voluntary organisation United Sikhs, and Canada-based activist Gurdeep Singh Sahota have also been blocked.

The blocking of Jagmeet Singh’s account is significant since he is known for his anti-India remarks.

On Sunday, Khalistani supporters vandalised the Indian High Commission in London and pulled down the Tricolour. Hours later, Khalistani elements attacked the Indian consulate in the US’s San Francisco. Videos of protesters breaking through the doors and barging into the office were shared on social media.

India reacted strongly to the news of such attacks. A senior British diplomat was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) over the incident at the High Commission in London.
