Singapore Flight Takes Off Leaving Behind 35 Passengers; DGCA Orders Probe

New Delhi: An investigation has been ordered by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after 35 passengers were left behind on an Amritsar-Singapore Scoot Airlines flight.

The DGCA stated that it is looking into the situation in which a Singapore flight took off hours ahead of schedule, leaving around 35 people at the airport in Amritsar.

The Scoot Airlines flight took off around 3 PM instead of at the scheduled time of 7:55 PM.

The airline claimed that passengers were alerted of the change in flight time by email.

According to reports, the passengers who arrived at the airport after viewing their email boarded the aircraft.

Authorities at Amritsar Airport said that a travel agent who purchased tickets for more than 30 members of the group failed to advise the passengers of the change in flight times to Singapore.
