Sonia Gandhi Meets Prez Droupadi Murmu in Courtesy Visit

New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi met President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Tuesday.

This is the first visit of Congress President after Murmu was elected as President.

A tweet run by the President’s Secretariat said, “President, Indian National Congress Sonia Gandhi called on President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.”

Reportedly, Congress did not support her candidature at the time of the election and backed Yashwant Sinha, the joint opposition candidate.

Meanwhile, Congress sources said this was a courtesy visit.
