Tripura Man Hacks Off Minor Wife, Dumps Body Parts In 2 Bags

Agartala: In a heart-wrenching event reported from the Muslim Para area on the outskirts of Agartala city on Friday, a 15-year-old housewife, namely, Tanuja Begum, was allegedly hacked to death by her husband. Her body parts were discovered by the police after hours of search stuffed in two bags.

The accused in this gruesome crime is the 24-year-old spouse of the victim named Khayyam Miah.

The in-laws reportedly discovered Tanuja missing on Friday morning and filed a missing report at the East Agartala police station. Dr. Kiran Kumar K, the superintendent of police for the West Tripura district, SDPO Ashish Dasgupta, the SDPO in charge of Amtali and Sadar, the officer in charge of the East Police Station, and police officers from the Collegetila outpost flocked to the scene.

The police believe that the fugitive husband and several items of clothing in the home were covered in splatters of blood on the wall. Officials from the forensic laboratory and the dog squad both sped off to look into the situation. The blood streaks that are visible coming from the house’s gate only add to the mystery.

The accused Khayam was reportedly observed roaming about the neighbourhood the previous evening, according to the locals. Khayyam’s home is reportedly in the neighbourhood, but the 15-year-old housewife was a resident of the Charipara neighbourhood of the Sepahijala district’s Bishalgarh sub-division.

Meanwhile, the accused Khayam was arrested on Friday afternoon in the Siddhi Ashram area of the Amtali police station.

It has been revealed that during the police questioning, the accused Khayam confessed to killing his wife by hacking her into pieces during the police interrogation. He was taken to the banks of the Howrah River in the presence of SDPO Ashish Dasgupta and OC East Police Station Sanjit Sen. Various body parts of the minor housewife were later discovered in two bags buried beneath the ground in a clay field in the Aralia Ward Office area on the outskirts of Agartala.
