Unable Repay Debts, 3 Members of Karnataka Family End Life by Jumping to Canal

Bengaluru: Three members of the same family ended their lives in the Hassan district of Karnataka by jumping into a canal.

The deceased The deceased identified as Srinivas (43), his wife Shweta (36) and daughter Nagashree (13) committed suicide by jumping into the Hemavati canal at the Kerebidi area of Hassan district.

While the couple’s body has been found, a search operation is continuing to find the girl’s body.

According to reports, they took this drastic step as they were unable to pay their debt. Srinivas was a car driver. His wife Shweta was a teacher at a private school.

Srinivas was unable to repay loans that he had had taken from various sources.

The coupel and their child were missing since last Tuesday.

The bodies of Srinivas and Shweta were found in a canal near Bagur Hobali, Mudlapur, on Thursday evening.

A case has been registered at Nuggehalli Police Station and further investigation is ongoing.
