UP: Wedding Celebrations End in Tragedy as Stray Bullet Kills 16-Year-Old Boy

Lucknow: A joyful pre-wedding ceremony in Uttar Pradesh turned into a tragedy when a 16-year-old boy, Ajay Kumar, lost his life due to a stray bullet fired during a celebratory firing. The incident occurred on Friday during the Haldi ceremony of Phoolchandra Dubey’s daughter, as festivities took a sombre turn.

Pintu, the nephew of Dubey and a visitor from Mumbai, allegedly discharged a shot from his licensed pistol in celebration. The bullet struck Kumar, an employee of the event’s tent company, causing grievous injuries. Despite being rushed to Prayagraj for medical attention, the young boy succumbed to his wounds the following day.

Grief and anger descended upon the family as Suresh, Kumar’s father, filed a complaint against Pintu. Responding promptly, the authorities apprehended the accused and seized the pistol used in the incident. Station House Officer Santosh Singh of Aaspur Devsara police station confirmed the arrest and assured a thorough investigation to bring justice to the victim’s family.
