Vadodara Traffic Police Introduces AC Helmets to Beat Summer Heat

Vadodara: In a bid to combat scorching summer temperatures, Vadodara Traffic Police has introduced a first-of-its-kind solution – air-conditioned helmets for its personnel.

Designed to provide cooling relief during peak temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, these helmets boast special features like a sun visor and a charging point for extended use. Reportedly, a single charge offers up to eight hours of cooling comfort.

The initiative comes in response to instances of officials fainting on duty due to heat exhaustion.

Traffic police personnel, who are currently testing these helmets on a trial basis, have reported enhanced comfort and efficiency while performing their duties. A video showed three traffic policemen wearing the AC helmets, receiving positive feedback from the public.

This initiative has also been extended to traffic police officials in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. DCP Traffic Aarti Singh stated that the helmets are being trialled at six major intersections in Vadodara, with plans to expand distribution to other intersections based on the successful results observed.
