26/11 Culprits Still Roaming Free in Pakistan: Javed Akhtar’s Straight Talk in Lahore

New Delhi: Even when in Pakistan’s Lahore, Indian writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar did not hesitate to directly attack Pakistan for still sheltering the terrorists involved in the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai. He justified that most Indians have complaints against Pakistan.

He vented up Indian emotions against Pakistan during his visit to Lahore to attend a literary function. A video clip of his utterance is making rounds on social media.

Javed Akhtar had this straight talk aimed at Pakistan’s double standards while responding to a question from a person, who asked to take with him a message of peace, and to tell Indians that Pakistan is “a positive, friendly, and loving country”.

“Let us not blame each other. That won’t solve issues. Jo garam hai fiza, woh kam honi chahiye. Hum toh Bambaiye log hain. Hamne dekha wahan kaise hamla hua tha. Wo log Norway se toh nahi aaye the naa Egypt se aaye the, wo log abhi bhi aapke mulk me ghum rahe hain. Toh ye shikayat agar Hindustani ke dil mein ho toh aapko bura nahi manna chahiye (The atmosphere needs to cool down. I am from Bombay and all of us witnessed the attack on Bombay. The attackers weren’t from Norway, or from Egypt. They are still present in your country, so you should not be offended if an Indian complains about this).”

The Mumbai terror attack was conducted by 10 Pakistani terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba. They killed 164 people. Nine of these terrorists were killed during the attacks, and one Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, was nabbed alive. He was hanged till death in November 2012.
