3 South Odisha Districts on High Alert Following Death of 11 in IED Blast by Maoists in Adjoining Chhattisgarh

Bhubaneswar: Following the death of 10 security personnel and a civilian in an IED blast triggered by Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada, three Odisha districts were put on high alert on Wednesday, informed state intelligence director Sanjeev Panda.

The districts where the security forces are put on high alert in Odisha are Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur. These districts border Chhattisgarh.

Combing operations, checking, and frisking of vehicles were intensified in these three districts.

As many as ten personnel of Chhattisgarh’s District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the driver of the vehicle in which they were traveling died in the IED explosion triggered by the Maoists in Dantewada’s Arnapur area on Wednesday afternoon.
